Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)
We are located at 18100 Genito Road Moseley, Virginia, 23120. The Google maps location listed on this page should take you to our location. Please note: Google has as our address our old building: the white building we call “The chapel.”
We meet across the street from the old chapel. The Worship Center, Education Wing, and Staff offices are located together in one red brick building you will easily see from Genito Road.
Casual dress is welcome. You’ll see a variety of dress: from short sleeves (especially in the Summer), to suit jackets and “Sunday dresses.” Please dress in the way which allows you to devote attention to worship.
There is. Nursery and children’s church are both available in our education wing, find out more here. A greeter will happily guide you to the correct location. This will be an opportunity for children in the nursery (ages birth – 3) and children’s church (preschool- 5th grade) to engage in times of crafts, Bible stories and to experience the care of a church family who wants them to know of God’s great love for all children! After service, children may be picked up at the education wing in either the nursery or the children’s church meeting room.
We have parking spaces which are accessible, as well as ramps and bathroom facilities which are wheelchair accessible.
At the same time, we know there is always more we can do. There are many different needs people of all sorts of abilities have. Please contact us at the church office, or at office@mt-hermon.org, to start a conversation on how we might make sure our time of worship is accessible for you. We would love to welcome you to worship with us.
When you enter the Worship Center (sanctuary), you will be given a Worship guide laying out the service. The parts of the service, and the lyrics to the songs, will also be projected on a projector screen. You can follow in whichever method makes more sense for you.
Worship involves inviting and recognizing God’s presence in prayer, giving thanks to God, lifting up our voices in song, hearing a word from the Lord in scripture and in preaching, and responding to that word by committing ourselves to God in our lives.
Concerning musical styles, we sing a mixture of traditional hymns and more contemporary praise and worship songs.
We believe it is the Lord’s Table, and he invites all who trust in Jesus (regardless of Christian denomination).
It won’t be a problem at all! Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend our time of Worship. You may participate (in singing, the prayers, in Sunday Bible study) as you desire. Please know the Pastoral staff is always happy to discuss any questions you might have about our faith in God: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.
No. No one will make you stand up in worship so everyone can see you’re a first-time guest. And no one will show up on your step and ask you aggressive questions. What we will do is greet you, welcome you to worship, and be glad you chose to worship with us. We do have connection cards, and we love to follow up with visitors to get to know them. But we do not do “cold calls.” No one will show up to your house on Monday (or any other day!) unannounced.
