From the Pastor…
Following the Crowd?
Let others lead small lives, but not you.
Let others argue over small things, but not you.
Let others cry over small hurts, but not you.
Let others leave their future in someone else’s hands, but not you. — Jim Rohn
When you are young, it is difficult not to yield to peer pressure or be following the crowd. Conformity is the end game of wanting to fit in. When do we decide not to bother doing something simply because “everybody is doing it?” If you follow Jesus, you get called away from the crowd. You conform to God’s ways, not the ways of the world.
Jesus said worldly people like to exercise power over others… but not you.
People say when you are hit, hit back but Jesus says… not you.
The world judges and criticizes… but not you.
The world values money more than people… but not you.
And on and on he goes urging us to find the narrow, difficult way through life rather than the wide, well-paved highway everyone else is traveling on.
Jesus is a non-conformist. He doesn’t care if “everyone is doing it.” He only cares about what God wants done, and so should we.
God’s best to you today,
Lee
