Practicing Faith, the Only Faith

From the Pastor…    Practicing Faith, the Only Faith

Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice. — Anton Chekhov

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. – James 2:18

Have you ever known a Professional Student?  That’s a person who is always studying, always earning degrees, always going to school… but never getting around to putting his/her knowledge into practice.

What good is a medical degree if you don’t practice medicine?  What good is a theological degree if you don’t teach others?  What good is being a licensed plumber if you don’t go out and plumb?  What good is “being” a Christian if you don’t go out and act like Christ?

We all know the answer to those questions… such knowledge is nothing.  If you can’t apply it, it doesn’t really exist.  That’s why what we know about Jesus and His teachings aren’t made real until we obey them, do them, and carry them out.  That’s what we are about today, aren’t we?
