Lee Ellison
Pastor
Lee Ellison grew up in Richmond and is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received a bachelor degree in Business Administration & Management, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received the Master of Divinity degree. He has been in pastoral ministry since 1978 and served churches in Danville, Pearisburg and Richmond before becoming pastor of Mount Hermon on September 1, 2004.  For two years, he was Circulation & Development Director of the Religious Herald, the state newspaper of Virginia Baptists. Lee and his wife Debbie have three grown children and three grandchildren.email: ellison.mhbc@gmail.com
Susan Prather
Susan Prather
Minister to Youth & Children
Susan Prather joined the MHBC staff as Minister to Youth & Children in August, 2006.  She is a longtime member of Mount Hermon and has been an active leader in multiple ministries throughout the years.   Susan was ordained as a deacon in January, 2003 and as a Minister of the Gospel in November 2012. — She provides mature and dynamic leadership to all of our church ministries and missions!

 

Debbie Thompson
Music Coordinator
Debbie Thompson became the part-time Minister of Music at MHBC on October 1, 2018. She has a degree in Music Education-Voice/Piano from the University of Indianapolis and has taken numerous graduate courses at Butler University, VCU, and John Tyler Community College. – Debbie had a long career as a music teacher in the Chesterfield County school system and has a lot of experience serving local Baptist churches in a variety of ways in music ministry.
